Position Title	SQL Server DBA	Duration	12 mo
Job Description * SQL Server DBA to install/setup/deliver and support Microsoft SQL Server databases and applications. * Provide technical expertise and hands-on support in consolidation and migration of databases to new hardware and platforms. * Provide technical expertise in all aspects of database implementation life cycle from sizing, through capacity planning, design, and implementation. * Physical implementation of databases, storage structures, high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery solutions. * Provide inputs in defining database standards and best practices for advanced monitoring and troubleshooting, performance tuning and automation * Provide guidance and direction to Level-2 Production database operations team. * Upgrade SQL 2000 servers to SQL 2005 and/or SQ L2008.
Required Skills * Expert in design, analysis, development, implementation and administration of MS SQL server 2000 and 2005 databases. * Expert in implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as Log shipping, data replication. * Minimum of 5 years experience working as MS SQL Server DBA supporting mission critical applications. * Experience in SQL 2008 is a big plus. * Experience with HP Polyserve and VM virtualization technologies is a big plus. * Experienced with DB performance monitoring, DB recovery, and DB change management. * Experience in supporting large scale SQL deployments.
