Job Description Sr. Database Engineer The Sr. DB Engineer/Architect position provides all aspects of Architecture, Design and Implementation for Database-based solutions for multiple client services employing DB2 LUW. This position will require SME projects oversight and coordination with application development teams and other engineering domains, and will direct, influence and coach others to ensure successful implementation of the next generations of the DB2 LUW-based IT investment projects and provide expert business solution assessment to determine if the solution aligns to the business and service delivery strategy. The responsibilities of this position will include, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: * HW/SW Standards and Infrastructure decisions for database-based solutions * Requirements analysis, Capacity Planning and Sizing * Defining consolidation deployment methodologies and cost-effective solutions for DB2 LUW * Backup/Restoration Strategies and Standards * Advanced Performance tuning * Advanced Troubleshooting and Problem Determination * Provide assistance in developing, promoting and supporting data management concepts and processes for Data Security
Required Skills Required skills: * Excellent troubleshooting and problem determination skills * Advance Performance and SQL Tuning skills * Knowledge of UNIX/Linux OS and storage subsystems * Excellent shell scripting skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate concepts * Superb analytical and problem solving skills
