Job Description PegaStaff, is a division of the PegaSoft Corporation; we provide staffing services nationwide; currently employing staff throughout 12 states across the US. We specialize in placing Information Technology Professionals & Engineering Professional positions. The Senior Software Engineers role is to write, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software specifications throughout the production life cycle. The Senior Software Engineer will also analyze and amend software bugs in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide status reports where required. Responsibilities include: *Propose technical solutions to business requirements and build software programs and applications according to specifications. *Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications. *Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas. *Install software products for end users as required. *Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of development efforts. *Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades. *Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
Required Skills *3+ years of experience as a Software Developer in a J2EE environment. *Bachelors in Computer Science, Masters a plus *Strong experience in software engineering, architecture, design and development. Experience generating design documentation including UML modeling. *Proficient working in an IDE including builds, deployment and debugging. *In depth knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies. *Experience with web-based application servers (e.g., Tomcat, Apache, JBoss) *In-depth knowledge of third-party libraries and frameworks including: Spring, Spring MVC, JSF, Struts, Hibernate, iBATIS, Jasper Reports, etc. *Experience with Javascript, Ajax and DHTML, Spring Modules XT and JQuery experience a plus. *Proficient with SQL, data modeling and Oracle RDBMS features. *Experience with source control (CVS/SVN). Experience with Maven a plus. *Creative thinking towards solving novel problems in a dynamic research environment. *Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies. *Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products.
